Make Room For Him

ree

This word came to me as I was reflecting on my alone time I spend in the presence of the Lord and how I make room for Him. Whether I am on my front porch or down in my basement, when welcoming the Holy Spirit into my worship I always adjust the seat cushions and pillows to make room for Him to sit next to me.

Whenever I do this, the Lord brings to my memory of Exodus 33:21 where God told Moses “Here’s a place by Me and you will stand upon the rock”. This is also mirrored by Jesus our Lord and Savior telling us in John 14:3 “I go and prepared a place for you”.

If there is a place prepared for us to welcome us in, why shouldn’t we as believers in Jesus Christ prepare a place for Him to sit? Yes, that true place where King Jesus sits is the throne of our hearts. But, as He is welcome to sit and talk with me in the Spirit, He is also welcome to sit and talk with me in the physical.

In Genesis 18:1-8, it tells us that God came down to visit Abraham and He sat and dined with him. This, too, is mirrored by Jesus when He said in John 14:23 “If anyone keeps His word, the Father will love him and We will make our home with him.”

The Holy Spirit is telling me that He wants to be involved in your daily decision making. Consult the Lord: from the biggest things to the littlest things. Yes, saints! The little things. The personal things. Things  like: What should I wear? What should I eat? I have this money left over. What do you want me to spend it on? I have this much time or I have little time left. What do you want me to do?

I also encourage the saints of the Most High God to make Jesus your priority. Make prayer and worship priority. Make reading and doing His Word priority. Make room for Him over your fleshly preferences, amen!

Receive the blessing:

Lord bless us and keep us, make Your face shine upon and gracious to us, Lord lift Your countenance upon us and give us your peace in Jesus’ name.

 Amen.
