Matthew 4:16 ESV - “16 the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.”
In these dark times I am reminded to remind the saints of God to be a light in the dark places. This word came to me as I was reading this verse and the Holy Spirit told me to zero in on where it stated that “the people dwelling in darkness and in the shadow of death ”.
Holy Spirit then said, “People are so comfortable being in the darkness that they cannot recognize it because it's all they’ve seen, encountered, and have grown used to.” Some may believe they are powerless and are scared to walk through the valley of the shadow of death. But as you read on, it tells us that a great light is sprung up and is seen.
Saints of God, believers in Christ Jesus, let me remind you because He is the true light that gives us light (John 1:4-9). WE!!! Are called to be light that shines in darkness, and know this: darkness cannot overcome light! So as you throughout your day, week and life remember you are bearing the light of Christ and are called to dark places. Whether it be on your job, around family and friends, no matter where you go: let the Word of God, the Love of God, the fruits of the Spirit be the fuel that keeps your light burning and go with your light shining.
Receive the blessing: Lord bless us and keep us, make your face shine upon us and be gracious to us, lift us up in your countenance and keep us in your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
